Welcome to HEIC Digital. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of our website and services at heic.digital. By accessing or using our service, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

By using HEIC Digital, you confirm that:

HEIC Digital provides the following free online services:
- HEIC to JPG Conversion: Convert Apple HEIC image files to JPG format
- HEIC to PDF Conversion: Convert HEIC files to PDF documents
- HEIC Viewer: View HEIC files online without conversion
- Bulk Processing: Convert multiple files simultaneously
- ZIP Download: Download converted files as a compressed archive
Service Availability: We strive to provide continuous service but do not guarantee 100% uptime. We may suspend or discontinue the service for maintenance, updates, or other reasons without prior notice.
3. User Obligations
3.1 Acceptable Use
You agree to use HEIC Digital only for lawful purposes. You must NOT:
- Upload files containing illegal content (child exploitation, terrorism, hate speech, etc.)
- Upload files you do not own or have permission to convert
- Upload malicious files (viruses, malware, trojans, etc.)
- Attempt to reverse engineer, hack, or compromise our service
- Use automated systems (bots, scrapers) without permission
- Abuse the service to cause harm, overload servers, or disrupt other users
- Impersonate others or misrepresent your identity
- Violate any applicable laws or regulations
3.2 Content Responsibility
You are solely responsible for:
- The content of files you upload
- Ensuring you have legal rights to upload and convert files
- Compliance with copyright laws and intellectual property rights
- Any consequences arising from your uploaded content
Important: We do not review, monitor, or verify uploaded files. We are not responsible for user-generated content.
3.3 Privacy of Others
Do not upload files containing:
- Private information of others without their consent (personal photos, documents, etc.)
- Confidential or sensitive data belonging to third parties
- Images of minors without parental consent
4. Service Usage Limits
To ensure fair use for all users, we may implement the following limits:
- File Size: Maximum file size per upload may be restricted
- Batch Processing: Number of simultaneous conversions may be limited
- Daily Limits: We may limit total conversions per day per user
- Rate Limiting: Excessive requests may be throttled or blocked
We reserve the right to modify these limits at any time without notice.
5. File Handling and Privacy
Our file handling practices are described in detail in our Privacy Policy. Key points:
- Original Files: Deleted immediately after conversion
- Converted Files: Deleted automatically 1 hour after conversion
- No Long-Term Storage: We do not permanently store your image files
- Metadata Preservation: Converted files maintain original EXIF metadata (GPS, camera info, etc.)
Your Responsibility: Download converted files within 1 hour. After deletion, we cannot recover files.
6. Intellectual Property Rights
6.1 Your Content
You retain all intellectual property rights to files you upload. By using our service, you grant us a limited, temporary license to:
- Store and process your files for conversion purposes
- Create converted versions (JPG, PDF) of your files
This license terminates when your files are deleted (within 1 hour of conversion).
6.2 Our Content
HEIC Digital, its design, logo, text, graphics, and source code are owned by Space Bits S.L. and protected by copyright laws. You may NOT:
- Copy, modify, or distribute our website code
- Use our logo or branding without permission
- Create derivative works based on our service
- Remove or alter copyright notices
7. Third-Party Services
Our website may contain:
- Advertisements: Served by Google AdSense
- Affiliate Links: Including Amazon Associates
- External Links: To third-party websites
We are not responsible for third-party content, products, or services. Your interactions with third parties are solely between you and them.
8. Disclaimers and Limitations
8.1 Service "As-Is"
HEIC Digital is provided on an "as-is" and "as-available" basis. We make no warranties, expressed or implied, including:
- Warranties of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose
- Guarantees of uninterrupted or error-free service
- Guarantees of conversion quality or accuracy
- Warranties that the service will meet your requirements
8.2 Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Space Bits S.L. and its affiliates, directors, employees, and agents shall NOT be liable for:
- Data Loss: Loss of files, data, or conversions
- Service Interruption: Downtime, maintenance, or technical issues
- Conversion Errors: Incorrect or poor-quality conversions
- Indirect Damages: Lost profits, business interruption, or consequential damages
- Third-Party Actions: Actions or content of other users or third parties
Maximum Liability: In jurisdictions where liability cannot be excluded, our total liability is limited to €100 (one hundred euros).
8.3 File Backup Responsibility
Important: Always keep backups of your original files. We are not responsible for:
- Lost or corrupted files
- Files deleted after 1 hour retention period
- Conversion errors or quality issues
9. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Space Bits S.L., its affiliates, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including legal fees) arising from:
- Your use of HEIC Digital
- Your violation of these Terms
- Your violation of any laws or third-party rights
- Your uploaded content
10. Termination
We may terminate or suspend your access to HEIC Digital immediately, without notice or liability, for any reason, including:
- Violation of these Terms
- Abusive or illegal behavior
- Excessive use that impacts service quality
- At our sole discretion
Upon termination, your files will be deleted according to our standard deletion policy (1 hour maximum).
11. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by the laws of Spain. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of HEIC Digital shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Barcelona, Spain.
For EU residents: This does not affect your rights under EU consumer protection laws.
12. Modifications to Terms
We may modify these Terms at any time. When we make changes:
- We will update the "Last updated" date at the top
- For material changes, we may display a notice on our homepage
- Your continued use after changes constitutes acceptance
If you disagree with the modified Terms, stop using the service.
13. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.
14. Entire Agreement
These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Space Bits S.L. regarding the use of HEIC Digital.
